Recognised as a major educational hub in the Chinese Mainland, Zhejiang is home to several renowned higher education institutions, including Zhejiang University, as well as many prestigious high schools. As part of its strategic enrolment efforts, the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (FLASS) sent marketing staff to promote its undergraduate programmes at an admission event organised by the Global Affairs Office (GAO) for The High School Attached to Zhejiang University (浙江大學附屬中學). The admissions talk, held on 2 February, attracted nearly 200 participants, mainly parents and teachers.

During the evening event, Ms Jennifer Ho, Assistant Director of GAO, introduced EdUHK by providing an overview of its undergraduate programmes, international rankings, graduate salary statistics, tuition fees, scholarships, and campus life. She also shared key information on admissions and application timelines for students applying through the Chinese Mainland Joint Entrance Examination (JEE, 普通高等學校招生全國統一考試), as well as the career development prospects for Chinese Mainland graduates.

FLASS representatives then gave an overview of the faculty. Ms Dolores He Peiying highlighted its undergraduate programmes offered by FLASS, research achievements, Information Day arrangements, and shared success stories of high-achieving Chinese Mainland graduates from FLASS. A question-and-answer session was held following the presentation.

Parents show strong interest in FLASS programmes.

“Parents expressed strong interest in our Artificial Intelligence and Educational Technology, Sports Science and Coaching, Primary Mathematics and Personal Finance programmes. Besides enquiring about the support provided from the University for non-Cantonese-speaking students, they also asked about campus accommodation, tuition fees, scholarships and opportunities to secure teaching jobs in Hong Kong after graduating from our teacher education programmes, as well as programme structure and career opportunities beyond the teaching profession. Their interest was so overwhelming that the admission event was extended until 10 at night,” said Ms He.

Earlier that afternoon, representatives from EdUHK and The High School Attached to Zhejiang University held a meeting to explore closer collaboration. GAO representatives shared that EdUHK will introduce its first summer programme designed for high school students in 2026.

On 2 December 2024, EdUHK signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The High School Attached to Zhejiang University. The agreement enhances educational collaboration, interaction, and development between Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland. It also fosters cooperation in teacher training and field practice, contributing to the overall enhancement of education quality in both places.

The High School Attached to Zhejiang University is a prestigious public school in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province. Located in the picturesque West Lake Scenic Area and renowned for its rigorous academic programmes and strong university placement, the school consistently ranks among the top high schools in the province.
